Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Sofia & check-in in Plovdiv

Morning: Arrive at Sofia Airport. Transfer to Plovdiv and check-in to your hotel in Plovdiv city center. Afternoon: Guided tour through the city’s historical places, such as the Roman Amphitheater with its well-preserved remains. Wander through the charming cobblestone streets of the Old Town, admire the beautifully preserved 19th-century Revival houses with their colorful facades and stroll along this pedestrian street, lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants, explore Kapana district with its vibrant arts and crafts and lively atmosphere. Evening: Have a wine tasting in one of Plovdiv’s most remarkable wine bars, then free time for exploring the city landscape.

Day 2- A wine tour in the rich Plovdiv region

Morning: After breakfast, head to a half- day wine trip to two wineries in the village of Brestnik, near Plovdiv, at the foot of the Rhodope Mountains, surrounded by greenery and fresh air. Start with the Agricultual university's experimental winery and wine museum- a unique blend of academica and viticulture that serves as a living laboratory for winemaking research and innovation. Here an expert will tell you about the wine, the region, and the history behind it. Then the journey continues to another first-class winery, where you can enjoy a wine tasting experience and a lunch in a comfortable setting. Afternoon: Return to Plovdiv, free time for a walk and dinner

Day 3: Journey to the Tracian kings' Rose valley

Morning: After breakfast- check-out and the tour continues to Kazanlak, nestled in the heart of the famous Rose Valley, which has been at the center of Bulgaria’s rose oil production for centuries. First, explore the Damascena ethnographic complex, where you will understand the rose distillation process. Enjoy a wine-tasting experience combining the floral notes of the region's roses with the complexity of its local wines. Continue to Kazanlak's Rose Museum - it highlights the cultural significance rose oil production in Bulgaria. After lunch, the journey leads to the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 4th-century BCE and one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in Bulgaria. Explore the burial chamber with its intricate and mastery brickwork. Afternoon: Check-in in your hotel. Relax at the spa zone and enjoy a lovely dinner.

Day 4: Ethnographic complex Etar and Veliko Tarnovo

Morning: After breakfast, check-out and head to Golyama Kosmatka Tomb – The Resting Place of a Thracian King- another very significant Thracian archaeological discovery. It dates back to the 5th century BCE and is widely believed to be the burial site of Seuthes III, a prominent Thracian king who ruled the Odrysian Kingdom and founded Seuthopolis, the ancient Thracian capital. Next, continue to the ethnographical complex Etar. Let's step back in time and experience Bulgarian culture firsthand. Etar is a unique and captivating open-air museum. It showcases traditional Bulgarian crafts and lifestyles, with workshops demonstrating traditional skills like pottery, blacksmithing, weaving, and woodcarving. It features a collection of authentic 18th- and 19th-century houses, watermills, and workshops, all meticulously restored and relocated to the museum grounds. In this authentic atmosphere, you can enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.
Afternoon: Arrive in Veliko Tarnovo. often referred to as the City of the Tsars” due to its role as the capital of the Second Bulgarian kingdom (1185–1396). Enjoy the breathtaking views of the city and surrounding hills, and relax at a local restaurant where you can savor wines from the Thracian Valley. Evening: immerse into a modern spectacle that combines music, lights, and lasers to narrate the story of Veliko Tarnovo and its tsars, illuminating Tsarevets Fortress in a mesmerizing display.

Day 5- Exploring the old capital of Bulgaria kingdom

Morning: After breakfast, head to a guided tour through the old capital. Veliko Tarnovo flourished as a powerful political, spiritual, and cultural center. It became the seat of Bulgarian tsars, who ruled a vast and influential kingdom that extended over much of the Balkans. Visit Tsarevets Fortress, the grand citadel that served as the epicenter of the empire's political and religious power. Afternoon: After lunch, enjoy the Old Town- a treasure trove of history, culture, and architecture, embodying the city's medieval charm and rich heritage. Perched along the steep hillsides overlooking the Yantra River, its cobblestone streets and traditional houses preserve the atmosphere of Bulgaria’s historic past.

Day 6: Sofia- a worthy end of the tour

Morning: After breakfast, check-out and head to Sofia. Get to know the city with a guided tour to Sofia's landmarks-Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Largo Square Roman ruins, the Presidency, St. George's Rotunda, and more. Admire its stunning architecture and learn about its rich history. Afternoon: Experience Sofia’s culinary scene with a delightful dinner at some of city’s best contemporary restaurants.

Day 7- Breakfast and transfer to Sofia airport

You can book this tour by email or web at least 7 days before the arrival date. All services are subject to availability. A booking is accepted by the Company only in written form. 

When we confirm your tour, you need to pay in advance 100 % of the total price. The following payments are accepted: by card, by bank transfer. If we do not receive the payment in 48 hours after the confirmation, the tour automatically is cancelled.

Cancellation of a scheduled tour is accepted by the Company only if it is sent in written form.

  • For cancellations made until 45 days of departure, no cancellation fee will be applied. Deposit payments will be refunded.
  • For cancellations made between 45 days and 30 days prior to departure or less, 70 % of the deposit be refunded.
  • For cancellations made between 30 days and 14 days before departure, 50% of total cost will be applied as a cancellation fee.
  • For cancellations made less than 14 days before departure, 100% of total cost will be applied as a cancellation fee.
