The Wild Calls

About this activity

We are Eledjik Game Farm and for more than 60 years we have been breeding and managing wild animals (red deer, fallow deer, roe deer, mouflon, wild boar). We are located about 80 km away from the centre of Sofia, in Ihtimanska Sredna Gora, below Mount Eledjik.
We want to share the secrets of the forest with you, to pass on the love of nature and care for animals. By touching the natural habitats of the forest inhabitants, spending even just a day in our Farm, we are convinced that everyone opens their eyes and heart to the wild mysterious beauty of nature.

What does the experience include?

• Off-road trekking with all-terrain transport
• Wildlife viewing from a jackal
• Hiking in the forest
• Lunch in a forest barbecue cooked by you with ingredients brought by you
• Archery and sling shooting and use of play equipment

The prices are the following:

• adult (aged 10 and above) – 64 EUR
• children (aged 7 to 10) – 32 EUR
• children and infants (under 7) – free

The duration is up to 6.5 h (from 10am to 4:30pm). The experience runs from April to October.
The package is suitable for all ages as well as for families with children. The capacity is from 4 to 16 people.
Free cancellation is possible up to 7 days before the date of the experience.
We offer homemade products such as forest honey, blueberry jam, elderberry syrup, and dried herb tea packets that clients can purchase upon request.

What’s ahead:
We start at 10:00 am from the Farm parking lot. You need to be with us 15 minutes early to allow time for toilet time and brief instructions. /Clothing – it is important to be dressed for the season, and even in the summer we recommend long pants. Be sure to wear layers (short, long sleeves so you can remove clothing if you get warmer during the hike). Comfortable, closed, flat shoes (platforms, slippers, etc. are highly inappropriate). Jeeps get pretty dusty in the dry season – be prepared to get dirty./
We set off in the jeeps on a half-hour forest safari. We stop for wildlife viewing from a chakala where you will spend another 30 minutes or so. We then head out for a walking tour of the forest, which depending on the group can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. We reach our forest barbecue. Bring whatever and however many ingredients you decide, with the only condition that they are suitable for the coals. You will have a pre-lit fire from us, disposable cutlery and crockery. While the food is cooking – rope and wooden courses are available for you to play on, and those who wish can test their archery skills.
Your stay at our woodland barbecue can last until 4pm, when the jeeps will take you back to the starting point – the Farm car park.
4:30 p.m. is the end of your adventure at the Elеdjik Farm.

What you need to know (Safety instructions):

• Don’t carry too much stuff. You can take a small rucksack for water and snacks, but your hands should be free for safety on the move.
• Stay seated while moving in the vehicle.
• Don’t talk very loudly (animals are used to the noise of SUVs to some extent, but not humans).
• Range for phones is small, in some places completely lacking, but still turn the volume down.
• You can take pictures, but we advise you to enjoy the experience as much as possible through your own senses and not rely on the videos from your phones. We are in animal territory, and they are a move ahead of us in camouflage and concealment
• Stay with the group and follow the instructions given by the guides.
• Please do not litter in the woods.
• Smoking is not permitted at organised events except in strictly designated and permitted smoking areas.
• Alcohol is not permitted.
